Training

The University is legally and ethically obligated to protect the confidentiality of student records. The Office of the Registrar offers two delivery methods of Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) training, both in the classroom and online.

Banner Scheduler Training

Section scheduler training is presented by staff from the Office of the Registrar and includes a PowerPoint presentation and time for questions about specific issues. Questions may be directed to Aaron Brewer.

Online Training

To be granted access to student records, you must review our online tutorial, which will be followed by a brief quiz.

Don’t remember your UIN?  Search for it. You’ll need it at the end of training.

Training Completion

Unit Security Contacts (USCs) can verify FERPA training completion for an Illinois faculty, staff, or student. Authorization is required to be able to access the FERPA training completion report. Individuals with a business need to verify FERPA training completion for their employed faculty/staff can also request access to the completion report. Contact Office of the Registrar Security to either request access to the completion report or with any access questions or problems.
