Fully online degree, certificate and non-degree experience tuition information is provided below. All academic credit for these experiences can be completed away from campus with no requirement to ever be present on campus. Tuition is charged generally based on what primary program you are studying. No additional tuition is charged for enrollment in courses that complete these certificates if you are enrolled in a different primary program of study, except for the dual degree program of MD/MPH. Tuition is charged at the displayed rate per every billing hour of class enrollment per semester. Zero credit-only courses are assessed at the one-hour resident rate.

Students enrolled in these fully online experiences are not eligible for the university provided student health insurance program. Beginning in Fall 2025, all students enrolled in these experiences will be assessed a $3 per billing hour Online Service Fee for services by the Office of the Dean of Students, the library, technology services, and counseling services. No other campus-based fees are charged.

Tuition and fees are direct costs charged by the university. The cost of attendance also includes indirect cost allowances for food, housing, books, supplies and other expenses.  You will not be billed by the university for these costs unless you live in university housing.  Use the Illinois Cost Calculator for an estimated cost of attendance.

• Online Experience Name – Most of the fully online programs have the same tuition rate regardless of a student’s residency status, but a few do specify different rates for IL residents compared to Non-Residents of Illinois or international students.  Residency status is determined upon admission to the experience.
• FA&T – Indicates if the experience is financial aid eligible and will be documented on student’s transcript.
• Credit Hours – The total number of academic credit hours required to complete the experience across however many semesters a student chooses.
• Per Hour Rate – Displays the tuition rate to be charged per billing hour for the indicated semesters.  Rates are subject to change annually by the Board of Trustees, effective in fall semesters.
• ESTIMATED Total Cost – This is an ESTIMATE only of the total TUITION cost of the experience based on the hours required and current tuition rate listed. Rates are subject to change annually by the Board of Trustees, effective in fall semesters.
• Serv Dept – Indicated what office is responsible for handling admissions to the experience:
  • GC = Graduate College Admissions
  • OUA = Office of Undergraduate Admissions
  • NDEG = Non-Degree Services team of Office of the Registrar.  That office provides admission, class registration and continued support for students in experiences they service.
• Cred Level – U indicates undergraduate and G indicates a graduate level credential results.
• Credential Type – All diplomas are officially issued by the Registrar’s Office.  Other credentials are provided in format determined by the program sponsoring the experience.
