If you are interested in attending Illinois classes without intent to complete a degree or other transcripted or financial aid eligible credential, this is where you start.
Are you considered Non-Degree?
Non-Degree students include:
- Students not admitted to a degree program or attempting to complete a transcripted financial aid credential
- Undergraduate or graduate students currently enrolled at another university who want to take an online course
- Prospective transfer students not yet admitted into a degree program
- Working professionals who want or need professional development or certification
- Anyone interested in earning an undergraduate or graduate certificate
- Anyone interested in taking a class for fun
- Corporations, school districts or agencies interested in a custom cohort program for online or off-site courses or degree programs
- High school students interested in pursuing NetMath (online math) programs
Registration Dates
- Spring 2025 semester – November 18, 2024 at 8am CST.
- Winter Session – November 18, 2024 at 8am CST. Registration closes for Winter Session Non-Degree Registration – Tuesday, December 17, 2024 @ 5pm CST.
Non-Degree Application Instructions
To apply for courses or certificates, you need to create an account and then submit the Non-Degree Application. If you don’t see the certificate or courses you are looking for in the application, please contact the Non-Degree Registration Services Team for assistance.
Cancellation/Drop/Withdrawal
- Cancellation – A student disenrolls all course sections for a term prior to classes beginning.
- Drop – A student disenrolls from one or more courses while remaining enrolled in at least one course.
- Withdraw – A student disenrolls from all course sections on or after the first day of instruction.
Non-Degree students must submit the Change of Status and W/C Forms to Non-Degree Services for signatures and processing prior to the posted deadlines to ensure proper processing.
