Part of Term (POT)

Part of Term (POT) values indicate the time frame of the course. The Class Schedule shows what part of term each course is scheduled in to assist with identifying deadlines.

1 = Full 12 week semester (5/17/2027 – 8/7/2027 (includes finals, often for independent study)
SF = Full 12 week semester (5/17/2027 – 8/7/2027 (includes finals)
S1 = Weeks 1 – 4 of the semester (5/17/2027 – 6/11/2027)
A = Weeks 1 – 6 of semester (5/17/2027 – 6/25/2027)
S18 = Weeks 1 – 8 of the semester (5/17/2027 – 7/9/2027)
S2 = Weeks 5 – 12 of the semester (6/14/2027 – 8/7/2027 (includes finals)
S2A = Weeks 5 – 8 of the semester (6/14/2027 – 7/9/2027)
B = Weeks 7 – 12 of the semester (6/28/2027 – 8/7/2027 (includes finals)
S2B = Weeks 9 – 12 of the semester (7/12/2027 – 8/7/2027 (includes finals)

100% Cancellation of all Courses for the Semester

You may be released from your obligation to pay all tuition and fees by canceling your registration for all summer sessions by 11:59 p.m., Sunday, May 16, 2027, the last day before instruction begins for the first summer POT. That is your LAST opportunity to completely cancel your semester’s registration via Student Self-Service.

If you are enrolled only in S2, S2A, B, S2B or classes that have not started by June 14, 2027, you may submit a request to cancel your registration via the special Summer Cancel Registration link in Student Self-Service. That request must be submitted by 11:59 p.m., Sunday, June 13, and no campus services used for the semester to enable you to receive a 100% refund of summer tuition and fees.

A student who wishes to drop all classes in a semester to discontinue enrollment (after the first day of class) must withdraw from the University by completing the withdrawal process by the stated deadline.

Refund Schedules for a Drop Courses or Reduce Credit Hours

You may be released from your obligation to pay part of the tuition and fees by dropping one or more courses, or changing credit hours.

Standard Part of Term Courses

Standard university parts of term, such as POT 1, POT S1, POT S2, etc. have established refund deadlines listed below.
NO partial refund of tuition or course fees is available when dropping a class after these deadlines.
You can drop a course up to the half way point of the course in Student Self-Service without the course being recorded on your academic record with a ‘W’ grade.
- Undergraduate students – Contact your academic advisor or Academic College to discuss dropping a course after the 50% point when a ‘W’ grade will be recorded on your academic record.
- Graduate students – Follow the directions to submit a Graduate College Petition to drop a course after the 50% point. Graduate policy allows for course drop to the 75% point without ‘W’ grade being recorded on your academic history.

*These deadlines apply ONLY when you remain enrolled in at least one class for the semester.

Non-standard Courses

Course sections that are not offered in the Parts of Term are referred to as non-standard.
Non-standard sections will NOT have a Part of Term listed in the Class Schedule.
The deadline dates are specific to each course and can be searched by subject, course number, CRN or date in the table below.
You can drop a course up to the half way point of the course in Student Self-Service without the course being recorded on your academic record with a ‘W’ grade.

*These deadlines apply ONLY when you remain enrolled in at least one class for the semester.

Deadlined will be available closer to the start of the term.

Refunds of Course Fees

Course fees are ONLY refunded for courses dropped by the partial tuition refund deadlines provided above. For example, a POT S1 (1st 4 week) course must be dropped by midnight May 21 to receive a refund for the course fee.
