SP27 Withdrawal Schedule

Spring 2027
Withdrawal – Refund Schedule

How Withdrawal Refunds are Calculated

  • A pro-rata refund will be issued based upon the withdrawal effective date as determined by the undergraduate college or academic affairs office or graduate department.
  • Refund deadlines typically depend on the main part of term or nonstandard courses in which enrolled.
  • An administrative fee of $50 will be assessed by the Bursar’s Office for all withdrawals.
  • Before a refund is made to the student, the university must make a refund to appropriate financial aid programs providing assistance to the student.
  • If indebted to the university at the time of withdrawal, the student will have the amount owed deducted from the amount of any refund available.
  • If no payment is made prior to withdrawal from the university, the student is liable for the full amount of tuition and fees originally assessed less applicable refunds. The Bursar’s Office provides debt collection options.
  • Details can be found in 3-508 of the Student Code.

Refundable charges include:

  • Assessed Tuition
  • Service Fee
  • AFMFA Fee
  • General Fee
  • Library/Info Technology Fee
  • Service Fee
  • Student Initiated Fee
  • Transportation Fee
  • Online Service Fee

Access to services ends as of the withdrawal effective date.

Non-Refundable charges include:

  • Health Insurance
  • Health Service Fee

Both services remain in effect and usable until the first day of class for the next term.

If health insurance coverage has not been used and it is within the insurance enrollment period, contact the Student Insurance office (insure@illinois.edu) to request that the insurance coverage be waived.
