Spring 2016 Academic Calendar

Part of Term (POT) values indicate the time frame for the course.  The Class Schedule shows what part of term each course is scheduled in to assist with identifying deadlines:

  • 1 = full 16 week semester (approximately 1/19/2016 – 5/4/2016 plus finals)
  • A = first 8 weeks of the semester (approximately 1/19/2016 – 3/11/2016)
  • B = second 8 weeks of the semester (approximately 3/14/2016 – 5/4/2016 plus finals)

October 19, 2015

  • Priority registration Time Tickets (earliest registration times) for Spring 2016 available on Student Self-Service

November 2, 2015

  • Priority registration begins for Spring 2016

November 23, 2015

  • Open registration begins for all except non-degree students

January 15–February 5

  • Health Insurance Change Period

January 18

  • Deadline to cancel registration (dropping all Spring 2016 classes) for 100% refund of tuition and fees, if no campus services were used
  • Martin Luther King, Jr. birthday (all-campus holiday)

January 19

  • First day of instruction for Spring POT 1 and POT A courses
  • Deadline for degree-seeking students to register for first classes without being charged $15 late fee penalty

January 20

January 22–February 1

  • Registration of non-degree students without penalty

January 25

  • Deadline to add a UG POT A course
  • Deadline to add a GRAD POT A course via Student Self-Service
  • Deadline for all students to drop a POT A course for a refund if reducing assessment range
  • Deadline to suppress directory information

February 1

  • Deadline to reduce POT 1 (full-semester) program and receive refund if reducing assessment range
  • Deadline to add a UG POT 1 course
  • Deadline to add a GRAD POT 1 course via Student Self-Service and without approval
  • Deadline to add a GRAD POT A course via department office

February 12

  • Deadline to drop a UG POT A course via Student Self-Service without grade of W
  • Deadline to drop a GRAD or UG POT A course via Student Self-Service
  • Deadline to elect credit/no credit or change credit/no credit to regular grade basis in UG POT A course
  • Deadline to file intent to use Campus Grade Replacement option in UG POT A course

February 26

  • Deadline to drop a GRAD POT A course without a grade of W
  • Deadline to elect credit/no credit for a GRAD POT A course or to change from credit/no credit to a regular grade

February 28

  • Full payment due for Spring 2016 charges unless on a payment plan

March 8 (2:00PM)

  • Faculty deadline for reporting midterm grades for freshmen

March 11

  • Deadline to drop UG POT 1 course via Student Self-Service without grade of W
  • Deadline to drop GRAD POT 1 course via Student Self-Service
  • Deadline to remove UG incomplete grade from previous semester to prevent change to F grade
  • Deadline to elect credit/no credit or change credit/no credit to regular grade basis in UG POT 1 course
  • Deadline to file intent to use Campus Grade Replacement option in a UG POT 1 course
  • Deadline for UG to withdraw from Spring 2016 semester without grade of W
  • Deadline for LAW students to drop semester course without grade of W

March 14

  • Priority registration Time Tickets (earliest registration times) for Summer and Fall 2016 available on Student Self-Service
  • POT B courses begin (non-traditional courses may begin earlier or later)

March 18

  • Deadline to add UG POT B course
  • Deadline to add GRAD POT B course via Student Self-Service
  • Deadline for all students to drop POT B course for refund if reducing assessment range

March 19–27

  • Spring Break

April 1

  • Deadline to withdraw from the University and receive the minimum 40% pro-rata refund

April 4

  • Priority registration for Summer and Fall 2016 begins

April 8

  • Deadline to add GRAD POT B course via department office

April 15

  • Deadline to drop UG POT B course via Student Self-Service without grade of W
  • Deadline to drop GRAD POT B course via Student Self-Service
  • Deadline to elect credit/no credit or change credit/no credit to regular grade basis in UG POT B course
  • Deadline to file intent to use Campus Grade Replacement option in UG POT B course
  • Deadline to drop GRAD POT 1 course without grade of W
